Contact: Dan Alf (310) 513-7353 dan_alf@denso-diam.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 2, 2005 DENSO Offers Next Generation SC Alternator to Aftermarket New alternator provides increased efficiency at lighter weight LAS VEGAS, Nev. Ð DENSO Sales California, Inc. now offers the next generation in alternator technology to the aftermarket; the Segment Conductor (SC) alternator, which is sometimes called the "hairpin" or "squarewire" alternator. First introduced for original equipment in 2000, the SC alternator meets the growing requirements for more power, increased efficiency, and lighter weight. DENSOÕs SC Alternator features innovative, patented square-wire technology, which raised winding density from 45 percent to 70 percent, for more output in a smaller size. This resulted in a weight reduction of 20 percent and increased efficiency of 10percent, and has almost eliminated electro-magnetic noise. "We are proud to offer this advanced technology to the aftermarket," said Fran Labun, vice president of Sales, DENSO Sales California, Inc. "We expect to see the SC Alternator expand its reach in the future to accommodate a wider range of applications." Currently, DENSOÕs SC Alternator accommodates several late model Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, and GM applications.
