Dennis Dawson joined DENSO International America, Inc. , DENSO's North American headquarters, in June 1993.   He was promoted to Senior Vice President in June 2000 and serves as General Counsel and Secretary.   Dawson is responsible for legal, human resource and environmental/safety functions, and also is the   administrator and a member of the company's top management committee.    

Dawson began in private practice, but has devoted most of his legal career to in-house corporate practice.   He   previously served as staff attorney for Amway Corporation in Ada, Mich.;   corporate counsel for Meijer, Inc. in Grand Rapids, Mich.; corporate counsel and assistant secretary for Holman, Inc. in Dundee, Mich.; and corporate counsel and secretary   for Tecumseh Products Company in Tecumseh, Mich.  

Dawson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University, Durham, N.C., in 1970 and was awarded his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School, Detroit, Mich., in 1973.   He is a member of the American Bar Association, Michigan State Bar, and the American Corporate Counsel Association.
