Mike Fontinell

Mike Fontinell is an engineer in the Environmental Engineering Department at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc., in Maryville, Tenn.  He focuses on the companyÕs special environmental projects to develop air pollution control strategies and to reduce landfill and hazardous waste.  His ongoing responsibilities include compliance with air quality, hazardous waste, solid waste and the shipment hazardous materials.

Fontinell has been with the environmental engineering group since joining the company in 1996.  In 2003, he helped DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee reach the top level of the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Program, setting the pace in Tennessee among businesses as one of the first to reach the top tier honor.  The program is sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. 

Fontinell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering and minored in Chemistry and Physics from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.  He is a member of East TennesseeÕs Regional Clean Air Coalition and the local Solid Waste Board and he also participates in the communityÕs beautification group, Keep Blount Beautiful.
