COVID-19 Positive Diagnosis (June 20 – July 1, 2020)

There have been 26 new positive COVID-19 diagnoses at group companies in North America from June 20 through July 1.

Company Number of positive diagnoses
DENSO Manufacturing Michigan 5
Air Systems Mexico 3
DENSO Manufacturing Arkansas 4
DENSO International America—West Michigan Lab 1
DENSO Manufacturing Athens Tennessee 2
DENSO Manufacturing North Carolina—Greenville 2
DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee 1
DENSO Mexico—Apodaca 7
DENSO Mexico—Guadalupe 1

All associates who were in close contact with these individuals have been notified and are self-quarantining. This brings the total number of positive COVID-19 diagnoses in DENSO in North America to 63.

We wish each of these associates a speedy recovery.

Special Request for July 4 Weekend

With each diagnosis, we investigate two key points:

  1. Who did the diagnosed person come into close contact with at DENSO, so we can notify them and take care of their safety.
  2. How was the diagnosed person exposed to the virus.

So far, our associates who have been infected with the virus appear to have been affected in their personal and social lives, not at DENSO.  We believe this is because of the strong safety countermeasures that we have put in place to protect associates.

But we are very concerned about our associates regardless of where they came in contact with COVID-19.  So we want to ask you to be careful over the long weekend.  We know it is a social weekend and you may be joining with friends and family to celebrate. Please take special care to avoid infection.  Wear a mask if you gather inside for an event. Keep a safe distance between you and others. Celebrate outdoors, if you can. Continue hand washing and avoid handshakes as much as you can.

And remember, aside from the individual health risks, the virus still creates business risk for us.  If too many team members across the company, or in one department, become infected it jeopardizes our ability to continue operations.

If we all follow the recommended safety measures, we can help protect our loved ones and our communities, slow the spread of this virus and speed up our economic recovery.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
