As this pandemic extends and we get more insight into our customers’ plans, we continue to adjust our policies to balance both associate and business needs.
Government leaders in Michigan and Mexico have verbally noted they plan to extend shutdown orders into May. Such orders will have a significant impact on the US auto industry. While we won’t know the full details of these orders until they are officially released in writing, we have decided to revise pay treatment for the week beginning April 19. We are returning to the previous pay treatment of 32 hours per week. This will allow most associates to keep full pay when combined with one PTO day each week. See below for details.
There is no change to the pay announcement for exempt associates.
*DENSO associates with paid time off (PTO) can choose to supplement this partial payment with PTO, otherwise the time will be recorded as unpaid time off without penalty.
** Premium details: Premium will be paid one week after normal paychecks. We apologize, but we need to manually process this premium due to payroll software limitations. This premium is approximately 20% or more for most associates.
Associates should continue to check-in with their leader to understand additional changes.
Again, the situation is changing day by day. We will continue to update you openly and honestly as we navigate the challenges ahead.
Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
