DIAM: COVID-19 Weekly Case Count (Nov. 26-Dec. 4, 2020)
Due to the U.S. holiday last week, the information below represents a 10-day period.
From Nov. 26 – Dec. 4, 2020, we have had 146 new positive COVID-19 diagnoses at DENSO affiliates in North America. That brings our total to 1,438 positive diagnoses across the region.
We have confirmed that four (4) associates contracted the virus at work—one (1) individual at DENSO Products and Services Americas and three (3) at DENSO Manufacturing Athens Tennessee. We have reinforced the necessary safety measures that all associates need to follow.
In addition, we deeply saddened to report that we have lost an associate to complications of COVID-19. This can be a deadly virus, and we all need to maintain a focus on safety, at work and outside work.

Holiday Safety
The holiday season is approaching fast! As you search for the perfect gift, remember that DENSO associates #celebratesafely. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) has shared best practices for how everyone can protect themselves and their communities from COVID-19.
Shopping virtually is the safest choice. Or use contactless services for purchased items, like curbside pick-up. If you venture out, protect yourself while shopping:
- Wear a maskin public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when social is distancing is difficult.
- When you do have to visit in person, go during hours when fewer people will be there (for example, early morning or late night).
- If you are at higher risk forsevere illness, find out if the store has special hours for people at higher risk. If they do, try to shop during those hours.
- Disinfect the shopping cart, use disinfecting wipes if available.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Stay at least 6 feet away from others while shopping and in lines.
- Use marked entry or exit points and follow any directional signs or floor markings designed to keep people at least 6 feet apart.
- Only touch products that you plan to purchase, if possible.
- If possible, use touchless payment (pay without touching money, a card, or a keypad). If you must handle money, a card, or use a keypad, use hand sanitizer right after paying.
