Where Can I Sign Up to Get a Vaccine?
Eligibility for vaccination based on age, health conditions and work environment continues to expand! While we continue to work closely with local health departments to secure vaccination information and updates, please use all of your available resources to get vaccinated when you are eligible.
In many states, the different systems don’t talk to one another. So when it’s your turn to get signed up for a shot, you may need to look for available appointments in all three of these separate streams, depending on your state.
DENSO North America
Weekly COVID-19 Case Update
We have had four (4) positive diagnoses in the past week for DIAM-Southfield. All four are associates who have been working from home.
There were two (2) cases reported at the DLMI Belleville Warehouse. These contract associates were both last onsite on April 19. We have thoroughly cleaned all areas and no associates were listed as close contact.
North America Case Counts
This week, 33 positive COVID-19 diagnoses were reported at DENSO affiliates in North America. This brings our total reported positive diagnoses to 3,040 across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Overall case rates continue to flatten, although we are closely monitoring the spread of COVID variants due to travel and other loosening restrictions. Please continue to seek out vaccination opportunities, wear a mask over your nose and mouth, keep social distance and avoid large, indoor gatherings.
DENSO is committed to reporting case data quickly and transparently, and alerting associates to any corrections. This week, three cases previously designated as internal spread have been re-classified as community spread. This designation was based on deeper investigation into root cause of the exposure and proposed countermeasures. After closer review by safety and health professionals, the exposure source was determined to be the result of contact with family and friends outside of work. The chart below is corrected, and also includes this week’s cases.
Country | This Week’s Cases | Total Positive Diagnosis | Number of Deaths | Exposed in Community | Exposed at DENSO | Unable to Determine | Under Investigation |
US | 27 | 1740 | 4 | 1717 | 14 | 8 | 1 |
MX | 3 | 1286 | 4 | 1211 | 48 | 27 | 0 |
CN | 3 | 14 | 0 | 14 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
NA TOTALS | 33 | 3040 | 8 | 2942 | 62 | 35 | 1 |
Exposed in Community – transmission attributed to community or home
Exposed at DENSO – transmission attributed to DENSO site contact
Unable to Determine – cannot confidently determine the source of exposure after thorough investigation (may have been exposed outside or inside of work)
Under Investigation – investigation is on-going both internally as well as with county health departments

Let’s Learn Together: What is a breakthrough case?
No vaccines are 100% effective at preventing illness, including the COVID-19 vaccines. There will be a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated who still get sick, are hospitalized, or die from COVID-19. This is called a vaccine breakthrough case.
There is evidence that vaccination makes COVID-19 illness less severe, adding to the reasons to get vaccinated at your first opportunity. Current data also suggest that COVID-19 vaccines offer protection against variants circulating in the United States. However, variants will cause some of these breakthrough cases. This is another reason to continue following COVID risk minimization guidelines at work and in your community.
