DIAM COVID-19 Weekly Case Count & Vaccine Info (April 30-May 7, 2021)

I Got My COVID-19 Vaccine!: Brian Campbell, DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee

Brian Campbell has been a DENSO associate for 30 years, currently working on the PMO Line in the Electrification Systems Division at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee. Thanks for sharing your vaccination story with us, Brian! More and more associates are sharing their vaccination stories with us—watch for them on DENSO-TV and DENSO Mobile.

What would you tell others about getting the COVID-19 vaccine?

It’s better to get the vaccine than chance getting COVID and dying.

How was your vaccination experience?

Very simple and fast. I had no side effects, just a sore shoulder for a day or two.

Why did you choose to get the vaccine?

My brother came close to dying due to COVID. He was in the hospital for three weeks. At first he didn’t take it serious but he changed his mind. He encouraged me to get my shot.

Weekly COVID-19 Case Update

This week, we learned of two (2) DIAM associates who were diagnosed with COVID-19.

  • One associate was last on site at DIAM Southfield, DN20 Shipping & Receiving and DN2, on April 26, and received a positive diagnosis on April 30.
  • One associate received a positive diagnosis on May 2, but has been working remotely since 2020.

Following our guidelines, we have thoroughly cleaned and sanitized all areas where the associate had prolonged contact, including the common spaces in all buildings. Everyone who needs to quarantine due to close contact with this associate has been notified. Please respect confidentiality, even if you believe you know who these individuals are.

Let’s Learn Together: Can a COVID-19 vaccine make me sick with COVID-19?

No. None of the authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines or COVID-19 vaccines currently in development in the United States contain the live virus that causes COVID-19. This means that a COVID-19 vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19.
