DENSO North America
Weekly COVID-19 Case Update
This week, 42 positive COVID-19 diagnoses were reported at DENSO affiliates in North America. This brings our total to 2,664 positive diagnoses throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States (U.S.).
Following local investigations into cases at DENSO facilities this week, most were classified as community spread (household, gatherings, travel, etc.). In Mexico, five cases have an undetermined origin, two cases have been classified as possible workplace exposure, and one case is still under investigation.
It is such a relief to see this continued downward trend! DENSO case rates have not been this low since summertime. However, this is not the time to let down our guard. More infectious variants of COVID-19 are starting to be reported in some communities, and not enough people have been vaccinated to reach “herd immunity.” So please, continue to closely follow all risk minimization guidelines for cleaning, face covering and social distancing.

COVID-19 Vaccine: How will DENSO associates get the COVID-19 vaccine?
For many of you, your first “shot” at the COVID-19 vaccine may not be through DENSO. Community first responders, people over age 65 and those with certain medical conditions may be prioritized in your area. So, let’s be clear—do not wait for DENSO!
Parts of the automotive industry are considered “essential,” but in most communities where DENSO operates, our associates fall within a later phase in their distribution plans. Depending on where you live, DENSO may be able to begin helping associates get a vaccination in early spring or summer 2021.
As we’ve said before, we want to make getting vaccinated as easy as possible for everyone, but if you’ve got a “shot,” at one—take it!
Let’s Learn Together: COVID-19 Vaccines Do Not Give You COVID-19
None of the COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized for use in the United States use the live virus that causes COVID-19. You may have symptoms like a fever after you get a vaccine. This is normal and a sign that your immune system is learning how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. All of our tips are shared directly from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Get more information at their Coronavirus Vaccination Site.
