This week, we learned of three associates from our Southfield campus who tested positive for COVID-19.
Case 1: We were notified of this positive diagnosis on Oct. 5. The associate worked in the TTS area and their last date onsite was Oct. 2. We have cleaned and sanitized the area where this associate worked according to CDC guidelines. All associates who were identified as in close contact with this individual were notified and are following company policy prior to returning to work. Due to the nature of their work, it was difficult to keep six feet of distance between associates. We are working with this department to strengthen safety protocols.
Case 2: We were notified of this positive diagnosis on Oct. 6. This associate has not been onsite since July 28, so there is no need for cleaning and sanitizing.
Case 3: We were notified of this positive diagnosis on Oct. 8. The associate has been working remotely since March, so there is no need for cleaning and sanitizing
We ask that you respect confidentiality, even if you believe you know who these associates are. Please join us in wishing for their quick recovery.
This week, we have confirmed that five (5) associates contracted the virus at work in Mexico. This is related to the situation we shared with you three weeks ago, where several associates worked in close proximity for a prolonged period of time. We have reinforced the necessary safety measures that all associates need to follow while at work.
From Oct. 2-Oct. 9, we have had 55 new positive COVID-19 diagnoses at DENSO affiliates in North America. That brings our total to 732 positive diagnoses across the region.
