Today, April 19, we were notified that a DENSO Manufacturing Athens (DMAT) associate working in Low Pressure Pump (Plant 701) has tested positive for COVID-19. The associate was last on the DMAT campus on Friday, April 10, during second shift.
We consulted with our medical professionals and ensured proper notifications have taken place. Because the associate was not working for six days prior to onset of symptoms, CDC guidelines do not require additional associates to self-isolate, but we continue to ask everyone to self-monitor for fever or other symptoms.
Even though the associate has not worked in DMAT for nine days, DMAT will close Plant 701 to clean and disinfect on Sunday, April 19 in accordance with our North American policy. They will resume production with second shift on Monday, April 20.
Please respect confidentiality, even if you believe you know who this individual is. The person is being treated; join us in wishing for their quick recovery.
