DIAM: Important Information for Returning to DIAM Southfield Campus

Please carefully read the information below if you plan to be on the DIAM Southfield campus from May 16-23. This approach may be modified starting May 24. We will update you when any of this information changes.

What you need to do before coming to DIAM

  • You must complete required training before coming onsite to any DENSO Michigan facility: SHE0710|COVID-19 Michigan Return to Work. All DENSO Michigan associates were automatically enrolled in Oracle. This training is a requirement for the state of Michigan. Click here for instructions on how to complete the training.
  • If you have a face mask, bring it with you. You will need it in order to be in any building.
  • If you don’t have a face mask, we will provide you with a paper mask.
  • We have ordered cloth masks and as soon as they arrive, we will provide every associate with two cloth masks. You will be responsible for cleaning these masks.

How to enter DIAM Southfield campus

  • ALL associates coming to DIAM in Southfield MUST sign in at the Tech Center Security Post (park in circle driveway)
  • All associates must read and confirm COVID-19 Screening Survey questions (indicated on sign in sheet)
    • There will be disinfectant provided before/after using community pen for the COVID-19 Screening Survey. You are welcome to use your own pen/pencil.
    • We are currently working on making this an electronic/mobile survey.
  • All associates must undergo Infrared Thermal Camera Scan (takes about 3 seconds)
  • All associates must stop at Security Guard shack on Denso Drive and confirm proper sign in at Tech Center (sign in, review badge, confirm training complete)—this includes associates working in the Tech Center buildings
  • Security Officer will take additional forehead scan of each associates temperature
  • Associates will then be allowed to travel to their building

What to expect when you come to DIAM Southfield

  • Many entrances to DIAM’s buildings are closed. Please plan to enter through the main visitor entrance (into the building lobby) or the main associate entrance.
  • You will be required to wear a face mask at all times. The only exceptions include: when you are sitting at your personal desk and there is no one within six feet, eating or drinking at your desk or in communal area.
  • The Cafeteria is closed, there will be no Fooda service, and the Marketplace vending areas are not yet restocked. Please plan to bring any meals from home or buy food from nearby restaurants.
  • There are no communal coffee pots, Keurig machines or hot water available, but you can access water, ice and refrigerators.
  • We will have disinfectant cleaners at every entrance, meeting room and community space (eating areas, etc.).
  • Meeting room seating is limited, as is seating in community spaces like break rooms and the Cafeteria.
  • Some restrooms are closed to facilitate frequent cleaning. Do not enter a restroom that is blocked off. We will open more restrooms as more associates return to campus.
  • Some common area and labs are still closed and require a check with a SHE team member and that specific area’s management to ensure it is equipped with appropriate occupancy information signs and cleaning/disinfecting materials before reopening.

What you need to do once you are on campus

  • Keep your face mask on at all times, unless eating, drinking or sitting at your personal desk with no one within six feet
  • Clear your desk of paper, mementos, photos, etc. You will want to wipe your desk frequently, so keeping a clear surface is important.
  • Before you leave DIAM, pack up everything on your desk (except for monitors, etc.) and put it in a drawer or take it with you.

We know some of you may feel face masks are not useful, but we are following the CDC guidelines, which recommend face covering to ensure you don’t spread the COVID-19 virus if you are infected. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we begin to slowly return to campus.
