DENSO Approach to Operations & Pay Through June 27
As we continue the careful transition to full operations, this communication will serve as our update regarding pay through June 27. Those who continue to be impacted by the pace of the restart of our operations will be paid according to our established practices.
The movement to Phase 1B in the DMMI Return to Work process allows for more associates to return to campus to serve both immediate and future customer and business needs. Please work closely with your leader on how you can best contribute to our operations and recovery efforts.
We thank you for your commitment to DENSO and your patience as we manage through this pandemic. Please continue to take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
Non-Exempt Associates
· Working from the company (WFC): Associates will be paid normal wages, with a minimum of 6.4 hours per day from Monday-Friday for full-time associates.
o Please follow new entrance screening procedures—do not come to work if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
o Refusing to come to work when needed (except those on an approved leave) disqualifies you from receiving DENSO minimum base wages and State Unemployment benefits. Please contact Leave Coordinator Jenny Brettin (269-565-1552) with leave questions.
· Working from home (WFH): Work with your leader on a work from home plan. You will be paid for hours worked, with a minimum of 6.4 hours per day.
· Not needed on-site and unable to work from home: Associates will be paid 80% of their regularly scheduled hours (6.4 hours per day for full-time associates) for Monday-Friday.
· Contractors, co-ops and interns: Through June 27, full-time workers will be paid for hours worked, with a minimum of 6.4 hours per day. If you are able to work more than 6.4 hours a day, you will be paid for hours worked.
DENSO associates with paid time off (PTO) can choose to supplement partial payment with PTO up to 40 hours per week, otherwise the time will be recorded as unpaid time off without penalty.
Exempt Associates
· Exempt associates who are not required to support on-site operations should continue to work from home to achieve 100% value add. Those who cannot are expected to be on-site as needed to add full value.
· Entering Phase 1B does not mean everyone should or must return to work on campus. We will continue to limit the number of associates working from the company to keep population density down.
· Associates should work with their leader to understand how they will combine work from home (WFH) and work from company (WFC) to add full value
o Depending on role and department, associates may WFC entirely, WFH entirely, or some combination during the remainder of Phase 1B.
· Leaders will review each individual situation weekly to ensure this approach reflects responsibilities.
· Associates who are part of NA Functional teams will follow direction set by your NA Functional Leader.
