Returning to Work Safely
Plans and preparations are underway to return to work at DMMI safely in the weeks to come. It is very important to think about returning to work as a dial, not a switch. We will slowly increase the volume of associates in the plant, just as you would turn a volume dial on the radio. This makes company-wide updates and communication with your direct supervisor essential for all associates in the next few weeks. Here are a few frequently asked questions… please plan to join us for Monday’s Virtual Town Hall (details below) to see and hear more!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How will I know what date my specific area will return to work?
A: You will be contacted by your direct supervisor with a return to work date and start time. Note that start times will be staggered to maximize social distancing, so please pay close attention to information shared by your leader.
Q: What associate entrances have return to work screening? Does everyone report to the main associate entrance?
A: At this time, the main associate entrance, west associate entrance, Hill-Brady Warehouse, North Logistics Center, West Logistics Center and Reliability & Development Center (RDC) are equipped for associate return to work screening. Associates, contractors and guests who report to work in other areas should plan to check in at the main associate entrance unless informed otherwise by their leader.
Q: What if I do not have a personal mask?
A: You will be provided with a cloth mask, paper mask and face shield when you return to work. You are welcome to try out different face coverings and wear the one that you prefer. Remember that face covering must be worn at all times by associates, contractors, visitors and guests except for: 1) eating in an approved area with social distancing in place, 2) outside (including smoking areas) with social distancing in place, 3) seated at a non-shared work space/desk with social distancing in place. This includes all contractors, visitors and guests.
Q: What office areas have dividers? Are they all clear dividers?
A: Some areas, specifically in Production Control for instance, had blue plasti-board dividers as we tested various materials for functionality, durability and ease of cleaning. All office areas will have clear lexan dividers installed.
Q: Will the dining center be open? What about vending?
A: The Dining Center will be open for seating, but we do not have a date for food service to resume yet. As more associates return to DENSO, our food service vendor will re-open, probably with a limited menu to start. We will share details about these services as they are finalized. Vending, including Avenue C mini markets, are open.
