DMMI – Thursday, May 7 COVID-19 Response Update

https://www.densomedia-na.com/wp-content/uploads/May-7-COVID-19-Response-Update.m4a

Governor Allows Manufacturing to Ramp Up Beginning Monday, May 11

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an Executive Order today allowing the manufacturing industry to begin a slow and gradual return to operations beginning next week.  This is great news, and an important sign that our collective efforts to stay home are helping to flatten the curve and prevent the virus from spreading.

Our customers, automakers who manufacture in Michigan and several other states, are preparing to begin mass production over the next two weeks. Because automakers are planning a slow and gradual return to work, all associates will not return to work on the same day. Some groups will be needed right away to begin preparing machines. DENSO production associates will hear from their direct supervisor when a date is established for them to return to work on-site. Next week, production leaders will come on site for training on new safety protocols.

As part of today’s announcement, Governor Whitmer also extended Michigan’s stay-at-home order through May 28. This means that associates who are able to work from home will continue to do so. Please continue to practice the three W’s—wear a face covering, wait 6 feet away from another person, and wash your hands.

Last Call for Town Hall Questions!

We’re looking forward to our next DMMI Virtual Town Hall on Monday, May 11 at 4:00 p.m. Our Survey Monkey question link will close on Friday at 12:00 p.m., so please share your questions.

Associate FAQ: My homemade mask shows off my favorite sports team. Can I wear it to DENSO?

When in the plant, personal or company-provided face coverings must be properly worn. Homemade masks are permitted, but inappropriate or offensive language or images are not allowed. Examples of inappropriate content include, but are not limited to, weapons, drugs, alcohol or company/organizational messages or logos other than DENSO.  Patterns and sports teams (like those represented on United Way Jersey Fridays) are fine to wear.

You’ll be provided with a company-issued mask and face shield when you return to work on site, and DENSO reserves the right to reject items not in compliance with policy or safety standards. If you have questions or concerns, please consult with your leader or Team Member Solutions (AR) representative.
