DENSO-Crafted Face Shields Now Protecting Local Front-Line Workers
DENSO has really put our passion for craftsmanship to work during this pandemic, designing and manufacturing tools for healthcare workers including powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) components in Battle Creek and face shields at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee (DMTN). This week, we were able to share some of those custom-crafted items with our local front-line workers with face shield donations to the following community organizations:
Joint Operations Command Center: 700 shields were donated to the group supplying protective equipment all emergency responders, medical offices and homeless shelters in Calhoun County.
Bronson Battle Creek Healthcare: 300 shields were donated to Bronson’s Battle Creek location to protect our local healthcare workers.
Hospice of Southwest Michigan: 150 shields are now in the hands of caregivers helping provide end-of-life care in western Michigan.
Portage Police & Fire Department: 100 face shields are protecting our police and fire department in Portage, Michigan, a nearby town many associates call home.
This equipment donation is in addition to grants from the DENSO North America Foundation to our community partners working to protect our friends and neighbors in need at:
· South Michigan Food Bank
· United Way of Battle Creek & Kalamazoo
· Charitable Union
As we make additional community donations, we will share the news!

Show Off Your Mask!
Remember to share a “selfie” while wearing a mask or face shield at work, home or while out running an essential errand. Email it to natalie.scott@na.denso.com so we can see your style and share it on our internal channels to stay connected to each other.
Associate FAQ
Q: Most non-essential healthcare visits have stopped; have there been any changes to flexible spending accounts?
A: The federal CARES Act did allow for the purchase of over-the-counter medications and menstrual items using your medical flexible spending dollars. You may also be eligible to make mid-year changes to your dependent care flexible spending account based on childcare changes. Find the form to make changes on the DENSO Benefits website under forms.
DENSO will continue to allow the $500 rollover permitted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS); there have been no additional decisions about extending time to use the funds.
