Pay Information for Week of May 31-June 6
As customer demands increase, we continue to welcome associates back to campus in alignment with state and local government orders. Our overall approach to operations and pay remains the same for the week beginning May 31. Details are below.
Non-Exempt Associates
- Needed for On-Site Work:
- Associates will be paid normal wages, with a minimum of 6.4 hours per day from Monday-Friday for full-time associates.
- Please follow new entrance screening procedures—do not come to work if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
- Refusing to come to work when needed (except those on an approved leave) disqualifies you from receiving DENSO minimum base wages and State Unemployment benefits. Please contact Leave Coordinator Jenny Brettin (269-565-1552) with leave questions.
- Working from home: Work with your leader on a work from home plan. You will be paid for hours worked, with a minimum of 6.4 hours per day.
- Not needed on-site and unable to work from home: Associates will be paid 80% of their regularly scheduled hours (6.4 hours for full-time associates) for Monday-Friday. Associates can use PTO to supplement their pay up to 40 hours per week.*
- Contractors, co-ops and interns: For the week beginning May 31, full-time workers will be paid for hours worked, with a minimum of 6.4 hours per day. If you are able to work more than 6.4 hours a day, you will be paid for hours worked.
*DENSO associates with paid time off (PTO) can choose to supplement this partial payment with PTO, otherwise the time will be recorded as unpaid time off without penalty.
Exempt Associates
- As customers volumes increase, more exempt associates will return to campus. However, this is limited to associates whose in-person presence is necessary.
- Exempt associates who are not required to support operations should continue to work from home.
- Associates with a full-time workload will be paid 100% of their wages.
- Exempt associates who cannot add full value can take unpaid time off or a PTO day.
- Leaders will review each individual situation on a weekly basis to ensure this approach accurately reflects responsibilities.
- Associates who are part of NA Functional teams will follow direction set by your NA Functional Leader.

Updates to DENSO Travel Policy
The DENSO travel policy addresses travel approval and requirements for business and personal travel. There are updated restrictions and actions you need to take for business and/or personal travel.
International Travel:
- All international business travel is prohibited at this time.
- If you travel outside the country for personal reasons, you must inform your management and HR Team Member Solutions representative. You will need to follow a 14-day quarantine.
Domestic Travel:
- Domestic business travel is restricted to minimal levels. If domestic business travel is critical, you will need to get approval of your Affiliate, Business or Functional (ABF) Leadership.
- DENSO will follow state and local travel orders. Please confirm state orders before you travel for personal or business.

DENSO North Carolina Associate Tests Positive
On May 22, we were notified that a DENSO Manufacturing North Carolina (DMNC) Greenville associate working in Maintenance tested positive for COVID-19. The associate was last on the DMNC campus on May 14. We have thoroughly cleaned the facility per DENSO’s Safety Policy, and ensured proper notifications have taken place. The associate is in quarantine at home; join us in wishing for their quick recovery.
