DIAM COVID-19 Weekly Case Count <Jan. 8-15, 2021>
This week, we learned that one (1) associate from DIAM Southfield location was diagnosed with COVID-19. The associate works on the third floor of Building 30 and was last on DIAM’s campus on December 23. They received a positive diagnosis on January 9, after experiencing symptoms on January 6.
Because the associate has not been on-site since December 23, there is no need for additional cleaning and sanitizing. Please respect confidentiality, even if you believe you know who the individual is. They are quarantining at home; please join us in wishing for their full recovery.
DENSO North America
Weekly COVID-19 Case Update
This week, 236 additional positive COVID-19 diagnoses were reported at DENSO affiliates in North America. This includes two weeks of case reports from Mexico, and brings our total to 2,279 positive diagnoses throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States (U.S.).
Following local case investigations, most were classified as community spread (household, gatherings, travel, etc.). One instance in the U.S. has been classified as workplace spread due to inconsistent social distancing. We have reinforced these guidelines and expectations as part of our local efforts.
Sadly, this week we learned of the death of a contract associate in the U.S. due to COVID-related complications. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this person’s loved ones, and we offer them our sympathy and support.
Please continue to protect yourselves, your teammates and your loved ones from this deadly virus.

DENSO Teams Partnering with Local Health Experts on Approach to COVID Vaccination Plans—No decisions made yet
As vaccine distribution has started in many communities, DENSO is working closely with our partners in public health, country, state and local government. Our goal is to understand what role companies will play in connecting their employees to vaccination programs in their community, and support those efforts.
No decisions have been made at this time, but this is an active discussion among several functional groups in North America for all DENSO sites.
We understand this is an important topic for you, so we will continue to share information and decisions transparently, just as we have throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
