Mental health resources – staying grounded and warning signs

Many states are loosening restrictions and DENSO campuses have begun to reopen, which are positive steps in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope this mental health series has helped you and your family during the past few weeks. Though we are all in different situations, you have proven that we all have one critical thing in common – the #DENSOSpirit. It’s incredible to hear all that you are doing:

  • Making essential parts (at home or through DENSO)
  • Helping elderly or at-risk individuals in communities
  • Supporting organizations through volunteering or donations
  • Working as a team to keep DENSO business moving forward

In our last installment of our mental health series, we are providing additional resources to use as we continue to live our new normal:

  • Keep Your Mind Grounded: tools to help focus on the present and manage situations when your mind is constantly racing
  • NAIMI-Warning Signs: a list of common warning signs or symptoms of mental illness

Remember, the DENSO Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides resources and support for many issues including mental health, family conflict, domestic violence and financial hardship.

  • Through Behavioral Health Systems (BHS), associates and their dependents have access to 5 free in-person sessions with a mental health counselor. After 5 sessions, the cost will follow your current insurance plan.
  • BHS is temporarily covering some outpatient telepsych services for all covered members (including EAP) through June 30, 2020.

For more information, go to the Benefits website, use code “denso,” and click COVID-19 at the top. EAP info and resources can be found along the left-hand side.

If you are experiencing a serious mental health episode, you can apply for FMLA and/or short-term-disability through our standard benefits process. For details, contact your local Benefits or TMS representative.

If you have comments or suggestions about topics you feel are helpful to communicate, please contact your local TMS representative.
