Update on DIAM Reopening Plans
All DENSO locations will remain in their current phase of reopening through June 30, 2021
While operations continue to deliver to our customers throughout North America, DENSO has limited the number of people on campus as part of a phased reopening plan. Reducing population density where possible is part of our overall risk minimization strategy as we work to protect each other and our business from the threats of COVID-19.
Each quarter, we conduct a thorough analysis of the COVID-19 environment, considering infection rates, vaccination status, government orders, industry benchmarks, etc. Based on projections for the first quarter of the 2021 fiscal year (April-June), DENSO locations will remain in their current reopening phase through June 30, 2021.
The pilot of a new, regional work from home policy will also be pushed back from April 1 to June 30 (at the earliest). While we will continue working on the details of this common policy, the rollout will coincide with a move into a less restrictive reopening phase by DENSO and/or government guidelines.
Current DIAM Phases:
DENSO Return to Work Phase |
Location |
What it means |
Phase 1A |
San Diego, CA
San Jose, CA |
Phase 1A only allows Work from Company for those who need to support manufacturing (customer or DENSO operations).
Those who work in a plant or warehouse only work from company when needed (to meet customer orders, prepare future orders, or meet other customer needs). |
Phase 1B |
All Michigan Sites – Southfield, Novi,
Ann Arbor, Holland
Washington D.C.
Seattle, WA
Montreal, Quebec |
Phase 1B allows for on-site work beyond what is required to meet immediate customer needs.
· This allows associates who are unable to add 100% value working from home to come on-site.
· Associates who cannot add 100% value from home are expected to be on-site as needed to add full value.
Phase 1B does not mean everyone should or must return to work on campus. We will continue to limit the number of associates working from the company to keep population density down.
Management (up to and including Functional Leaders) of staff who are working on-site are required to provide suitable on-site support. |
Phase 2 |
Dublin, OH
Waterloo, IA
Pittsburgh, PA
Plano, TX
|
Phase 2 allows more flexibility to Work from Home or Work from Company, while maintaining social distancing and safety rules.
· Preferred method is Work from Home where job permits and 100% value add can be achieved.
· Work from Company periodically or routinely is an option for increased efficiency, relationships with others, quality of job, etc.
Management (up to and including Functional Leaders) of staff who are working on-site are required to provide suitable on-site support. |
