Finance and Accounting had two full time SME’s in CAMS. Nema was assigned from Accounts Payable and Rick McClarty from General Ledger and Financial Reporting. Rick McClarty suddenly decided to retire with a two week notice while DPAM was in the midst of the CAMS project. This was an extremely critical time – only 1 ½ months from the “Go Live” date.
At that time, F&A had no available resources to fill Rick’s position in CAMS due Fiscal Year End closing, an audit and other time-sensitive projects. Nema stepped up without hesitation and took over the General Ledger and Finance Reporting on top of her A/P responsibility in CAMS. In the transition and review process of the general ledger in preparation for UAT many issues in Finance were uncovered which required a lot of clean up and validation.
Immediately, F&A realigned its resources to support Nema but in order to complete her project tasks timely, Nema has had to work long hours and many weekends. She shares high goals with her colleagues and respects the contribution of each team member. Nema’s effort is unprecedented. Her perseverance and determination to a successful project launch displays her spirit of foresight, overcoming challenges, and teamwork by doing the best she can as a role model and team player.
