Chuntao Ye is senior vice president at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee (DMTN). Located in Maryville, Tennessee, Ye is in charge of the Instrument Cluster, Electronics, and Body Electronics plants, responsible for strategic development for information and safety and electronics manufacturing and growth. He also serves as deputy leader of Information & Safety Systems for DENSO in North America.
Ye joined DENSO in 1992 as specialist in Parts Production Engineering where he was responsible for process development and improvement and raw material localization activities. In 1997, Ye was named supervisor of Parts Production Engineering where he helped establish the new parts cold forging plant (Plant 102). He was promoted to assistant manager in 1999 and to manager of Alternator Production Engineering in 2001. Ye continued to expand his responsibilities in the Starter/Alternator division, eventually being named vice president of Starter/Alternator Division in 2012, and served as North America’s Electric Powertrain Business head. In 2016, Ye moved to the Information and Safety Division, where was responsible for business planning and growth.
Prior to joining DENSO, Ye worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company.
Ye has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai University of Technology and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
