Doua Vang is senior manager of In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Advanced Engineering Research and Development (R&D) group and the Business Expansion group at DENSO International America, Inc., DENSO’s North American headquarters located in Southfield, Michigan. In addition, he also serves as senior manager of Elevate Lab, which is DENSO’s North American Human Machine Interface (HMI) R&D Lab.
Vang’s duties include defining North America IVI, Telematics, and vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure’s (V2X) vision, strategy, and localization of advanced development teams. He also is responsible for identifying and integrating the latest connectivity trends and technologies from consumer electronics into automotive.
As senior manager of Elevate Lab, Vang is responsible for HMI and technology innovation, as well as academic research projects with universities. This includes includes leading and representing DENSO within the Advanced Human Factors Evaluator for Automotive Distraction (AHEAD) consortium that DENSO co-founded with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AgeLab and Touchstone Evaluations.
Vang joined DENSO in 2006 as a navigation systems engineer working in the General Motors Navigation group where he focused on infotainment software and system development.
Before joining DENSO, Vang served as a navigation engineer for Pioneer Corp. and as a Human Machine Interface engineer for Xycom Automation, Inc.
Vang earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 2003.
