Jonathan Callies is vice president of the Electrification Systems Division at DENSO’s Athens, Tennessee facility. Jonathan oversees all division operations at the Maryville Campus, which includes all production performance, achievement of new model preparation, and overall business P&L achievement.
Callies joined DENSO in January 1992 as a Production Design Engineer. In 1996, Callies accepted an overseas assignment as an Engine Electrical Engineer in Kariya, Japan, to oversee customer specification development, prototype evaluation, design verification and drawing release for Alternators on all 97-99MY Chrysler vehicles. He returned in 1999 and was appointed Senior Manager. In 2013, Callies was promoted to Director of the Electrification Systems Division before assuming his current role in 2019.
Prior to working at DENSO, Callies worked as an Intern at Whirlpool Corporation before completing a mechanical engineering co-op opportunity with DuPont Savannah River Plant.
Callies earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. He later earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
