Michael O’Brien is Director of Manufacturing for the Ceramic Products department at DENSO Manufacturing Athens Tennessee (DMAT). His primary responsibilities include overseeing all development of strategy and direction for the enhancement of the Human Resource Department, Ceramic and Ignition products, EF activity for the DMAT campus and the Ceramic Products division.
O’Brien joined DENSO in September 1996 as a Production Engineer. He was responsible for the process design and project management of line installation and production support for new lines and products. In 2001, he was appointed to Production Engineer Supervisor for Exhaust Gas Sensors and Spark Plugs. In 2006, he was named Production Engineer Manager for Ceramic Products and Spark Plugs, and he was later promoted to Product Manager in 2010 where he was responsible for the Ceramic Products Production before assuming his current role in 2012.
Prior to working at DENSO, O’Brien worked at Panasonic as a Production Engineering Specialist where he acted as a Process Design Engineer and Production Support Engineer.
O’Brien earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee.
