Ron Schubert is director of DENSO International America, Inc.’s (DIAM) Body Components Group overseeing Body Modules and Safety Products. This includes body control modules, memory seat modules, passive entry and passive start systems, pedestrian friendly alert systems, camera systems, radar systems, airbag systems and LIDAR systems.
Schubert joined DENSO in 1998, where he did application work on body module products. He progressed through the ranks doing engineering and program management work in Body Module and Safety Products. In 2001, he was named manager and led Body Module development. He was promoted to senior manager in 2006, where he was also assigned safety products, with a focus on active safety systems.
He was named director of Body Modules and Safety Products in 2011, supporting development and testing of products.
Before joining DENSO, he was an engineer at General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co. working on radios and in process dynamometer testing of new vehicles. He also worked as a controls engineer at National Steel, spending most of his time on the blast furnace process and motor controls.
Schubert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Dearborn, Michigan.
He is an active member of the Society of Automotive Engineers International.
