SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The DENSO North America Foundation (DNAF) today announced it is making a $25,000 contribution to the American Red Cross disaster fund to help respond to the Gatlinburg, Tenn. wildfires, the Athens, Tenn. tornado, and Greenville, N.C. flooding.
“Our thoughts go out to those impacted by the disasters in Tennessee and North Carolina,” said Mike Brackett, member of the DENSO North America Foundation Board of Directors and senior vice president of Corporate Services at DENSO’s Maryville, Tenn., facility. “As a strong community partner and supporter, DENSO is pleased to make a donation to help our communities during this time of need.”
Employees from DENSO’s Athens and Maryville, Tenn. locations volunteered to work with the American Red Cross to help with wildfire and tornado clean-up efforts. In addition, employees from these locations teamed up to sell t-shirts to collect donations totaling $20,000 so far.
One of the core principles of the DENSO foundation is to provide disaster relief grants through the American Red Cross and other local agencies to aid persons and communities in which DENSO operates. Founded in 2001, DNAF is a registered 501(c)3 corporate foundation dedicated to helping students advance their education in engineering, technology and other related programs.
DENSO is also encouraging its employees, friends or family to make a donation to the American Red Cross to help support its efforts. Click here to donate.
