SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Twenty five thousand dollars to commemorate 25 years – DENSO International America, Inc. announced it will donate $25,000 to Tri-County Technical College in Anderson, S.C. in recognition of the 25th anniversary of Associated Fuel Pump Systems Corporation (AFCO), a 50/50 joint venture between Robert Bosch GmbH and DIAM. More importantly, the grant will provide local students with scholarships for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)-related programs, such as such as industrial electronics, technology, and mechatronics.
DIAM matched the Bosch Community Fund grant, which created a total scholarship program of $50,000. Beginning in 2016, scholarships in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded to 25 students over a five-year period. DENSO announced the grant during a ceremony at the AFCO facility celebrating its 25th Anniversary on Sept 10.
“With the establishment of AFCO, DENSO has been part of the Anderson community for the last 25 years,” said Yukio Asano, Executive Vice President at DIAM. “There’s no better way to commemorate this milestone than donating $25,000 to help local community students pursue STEM-related careers.
