SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – To meet increasing sales in North America, global automotive supplier DENSO will open a new shipping warehouse in Nashville, Tennessee. The company will invest approximately $6.7 million to open a 165,000 square-foot warehouse, which will result in the creation of about 20 new jobs. DENSO’s new location, DENSO Logistics Nashville Tennessee (DLNT), is scheduled to open in April 2015.
“This new warehouse enables us to expand our capabilities to satisfy our customers and also support continued sales growth,” said Britt Autry, vice president of the North American Production Promotion Center at DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee in Maryville.
Warehouse Expansion in Michigan:
Along with the Nashville expansion, DENSO also recently invested approximately $1.6 million to expand its DENSO Logistics Michigan (DLMI) warehouse, located in Belleville, Michigan. The investment represents the addition of 40,902 square feet and 10 new jobs. DLMI opened its doors in 2007 to coordinate the distribution of products from various countries, like Japan, Spain, Hungary and Thailand, to a wide range of DENSO’s North American customers. With the addition of DLNT, DENSO will have six warehouses in North America.
The Michigan and Tennessee warehouse news is part of DENSO’s expansion plan to invest nearly $1 billion in North America – more than $750 million in the United States – to strengthen and expand its product development and manufacturing capabilities across the region.
